We are launching two new lines of Escape Design FX masks this summer, The Great Apes and The Pride. These masks are not only extremely cool, but they will serve an ecological purpose. Whenever we sell one of these masks a portion of the money will go to a charity that aggressively combats the hunting and killing of these amazing creatures.

Escape’ Design FX was founded in 1996. In the beginning our focus was on costuming, but since 2003 EDFX has expanded our focus to special effects, props, and makeup. Though we have earned numerous third parting contracts on some huge Hollywood productions, we have always considered independent film as our mainstay.

EDFX founded Independent Filmmaking, an association of filmmakers catering to truly independent film productions. EDFX prides itself on creating high quality products to fit into indie film budgets.
EDFX expanded its view in 2007 creating an independent production company called Ritual Pictures, and in 2011 Kerr Clan Films, a stop motion animation house. Keeping its roots in the indie world is extremely important to us. As indie filmmakers ourselves, we know the struggles of creating something spectacular on a limited budget. We take pride in catering to those independent films budgets.

You're welcome! BTW, would you please give my sister a few tips about special effects design? She's looking to go to the Art Institute for it and possibly start a career with it and I'm not exactly sure what to tell her to start with, fundamentally. I know it requires concept sketches and such but I think they only have to be basic sketches, not exactly as refined as what an illustrator or character designer produces or I could be wrong. She's I would appreciate your helping her get a good start and maybe showing her what to expect as a special effects designer.
